Sprucing Up the House
When we bought our house five years ago, we knew there were a few unfinished projects and fix-up jobs the previous owners began, and we inherited. Over the past five years, a few more of these have been generated. Brian decided this was the month to knock most of these jobs off his list.
- The facia board and gutters have been replaced on the back of the house and the gutters are up on the side of the garage
- the doorframe in the kitchen is now painted
- the doorframe in the office is now painted
- the four locations of bubbled paint from last year’s housepainting, which the painters came back to scrape but neglected to prime or paint, are now painted
- the latch on the guest room door works, and no longer requires lifting the entire door to get in and out.
- we have a working garage door opener
I doubt most of these would be noticed by guests or neighbors, but it makes me smile to look around and see lots of improvements that make things look better, and make our home a bit more comfortable.
